Bronte Medical Centre is excited to announce the arrival of our new Psychology Fiona Skelton.
​
Fiona is an open, compassionate and collaborative psychologist who works with clients to help them gain better insight into themselves and move forward in ways that are positive and authentic to their being.
Fiona helps clients experiencing anxiety, depression, loneliness, anger, sexual disorders, perinatal depression and anxiety, eating disorders and who are experiencing difficulties with relationships, families, couples, sleep, self-esteem, life satisfaction, grief, work and other major changes.
Fiona has experience in a range of settings including counselling services, psychiatric hospitals and community mental health. She uses a number of evidence-based, clinically-effective therapies including interpersonal therapy, CBT, mindfulness, compassion focussed therapy and intensive short-term dynamic therapy.
Fiona completed her Clinical Masters at Victoria University, which specialises in psychodynamic therapy training, and as such she uses this insight-orientated approach as the basis of her practice.
Fiona has also facilitated groups for adults experiencing depression and anxiety. In group settings she has utilised a number of therapeutic approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, interpersonal therapy and mindfulness.
Fiona is a Medicare accredited Registered Psychologist and practices at Bronte Medical Centre on Wednesday’s.
